i've two of these early homage divers, the 62MAS, which was incredible, and now this 6105-8000 homage which followed the 62MAS historically.
this is every bit as remarkable as the 62MAS. they both are virtually exact replicas casewise as the original. the movement is better than the original, a seiko NH35. the dial has thankfully been as faithful to the original without being sterile. the logo is so cool without overpowering the originality of the watch, i can feel as if i'm wearing an original.
as for an original, i would love to have one, as beat up as they are usually. but if i did, never would i wear it on a daily basis as i can this homage. and as much as i love this, i want it on my wrist as often as possible.
lastly, i am a longtime vintage watch collector. now mainly diving and military. i'm as excited to put this on my wrist as any of the $1000 or more Swiss divers i own. if you love or like divers, love or like classic style in the diver genre, you will adore this watch! i thank you guys for making it, and for getting it to me in the U.S. in just a couple of days!
Having desired a 6105 8000 for many years, but having never been able to afford one. I was ecstatic to know a homage had been made. It is an excellent watch with all the great features and design of the original. I chose the model with gold accents because that was the design I always loved but was never available in the original. Thank you for making my dream watch.
I went for the sandblasted version because like most Seiko collectors, I have lots and lots of black dial divers and this looked very different with the smoked grey dial too. I am really pleased with the aesthetics of the watch, it will look superb on an original bond NATO strap but the for the moment I'm happy keeping the rubber on it as its very comfortable to wear. The size of the case is 1:1 of original turtle and my 7.5" wrist makes it an ideal size for an everyday wearer that can take everyday damage with ease. I love aluminium inserts, ceramic look great but tend to make a diver a bit bling looking. The reliable NH35 movement is inside and running at +5 secs a day. This is certainly a watch that I will keep within my collection. The sandblasted case certainly makes it stand out from the semi polished version and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking about purchasing one.
